Text of the New English Translation

Very interesting… Rocco has a scoop on the texts of the New English Translation Missal.

I took particular note of this part of the Canon:

Be pleased to look upon them
with a serene and kindly gaze
and to accept them,
as you were pleased to accept
the gifts of your just servant Abel,
the sacrifice of Abraham, our father in faith,
and the offering of your high priest Melchizedek,
a holy sacrifice, a spotless victim.

By why does the inclusive language remain in the Confiteor?

Priest: Brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins,
that we may be ready to celebrate the sacred mysteries.

(Silence)

All: I confess to almighty God,
and to you my brothers and sisters,
that I have sinned greatly
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and what I have failed to do,
(striking their breast, they say)
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault.

(Then they continue)
Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Priest: May almighty God have mercy on us
and lead us, with our sins forgiven,
into eternal life.

In the Latin is is vos or vobis (if I remember properly - E, don't complain, I just don't remember the part the priest says).

This the masculine pronoun and is "brothers" in the less specifc sense.

Someone correct me if my latin in wrong.
